How to Boost Your Immune System

By Dr. Deborah Musso

1 out of every 2 Americans suffers from a chronic or degenerative disease. We spend in excess of 2 trillion dollars a year trying to eradicate these conditions, yet we are seeing more and more cases of Cancer, Arthritis, MS, Heart Disease, allergies and many other forms of immune dysfunction. We are seeing a rise of Diabetes and Arthritis in our children. We are seeing more Dementia, Parkinson, Heart Disease and Depression in our parents. And as Boomers we are experiencing a rise in conditions of fatigue, Hepatitis B and Epstein Bar.
Why are we so Sick? It all comes back to the state of integrity of our immune system. At the heart
of our immune system is our network of natural defense to outside allergens. Your immune system is designed to naturally fight off colds, viruses, infections, diseases, allergies and asthma, even auto-immune disorders. But if your natural body processes are hindered and unable to function at top level, your immune system — and your health—are put in jeopardy.
There are 3 causes of comprised immune function: Diet, Stress and Toxins!
When on stress overload, the body’s ability to cope and adapt has been exceeded. We all know someone under emotional stress who turns around and has a heart attack! When in “Stress Physiology” there is a cascade of events that occur that affect your cardio system, nervous system, endocrine and immune systems.
There are natural and non-toxic methods of preventing the stress response and the resulting immune dysfunction. Once we can restore the body immune function and its network of communication, we then have the potential to totally eradicate the disease and conditions of the stress response.
Want to boost your immune system easily and naturally? Simply follow these suggestions and you’ll be on your way to maximized health.
NETWORK SPINAL ANALYSIS:
The No.1 best thing you can do to boost your body’s immunity is to get your spine checked for spinal and neural integrity. Your immune system is a direct extension of your nerve system. The nerve system is what carries messages from your brain to the rest of your body. These messages instruct the body on how to adapt to external sources and defend and recover from sickness and heal itself. But if these vital messages are blocked due to spinal tension patterns, your health will begin to fail.
EAT YOUR VEGGIES:
Feeding your body leafy green vegetables, fruits and foods high in Vitamins A, B, C, D and E all help to
strengthen your immune system. These nutrients provide the building materials your body needs to build up and maintain things like clear vision, strong teeth, healthy internal organs, etc.
BREASTFEED YOUR BABY:
Babies that are breastfed tend to be far healthier than babies that are fed synthetic formulas out of a can or a box. Breast milk is loaded with antibodies and other immune building nutrients that synthetic formulas just can’t replicate.
DON'T VACCINATE YOUR KIDS:
This is a controversial topic, but after decades of studying health and contrasting and comparing cultures that do and do not use vaccines, it’s clear that the harsh chemical formulas of vaccines often cause more harm than help. For more information on this topic, read Dr.Madeira’s book “Setting Things Straight” found at: http://www.settingthingsstraight.com/.
DON'T OVER-MEDICATE:
Stop taking drugs for every problem and ailment that occurs in your body, especially antibiotics which prevent your body from building permanent immunity. Not only can drugs become addictive, but every single drug has a negative side affect. There are many natural and healthy alternatives to medication.
GET MOVING:
Regular exercise each day, regardless of how little or how much you take, builds your immune system through increased tissue strength, improved circulation of blood and lymph systems and improved oxygenation of nearly all body tissue. This is just one more reason to get those running shoes, golf clubs and tennis rackets out of the garage.
AVOID SUGAR:
Sugar decreases the function of your immune system almost immediately. It is especially imperative to avoid sugar if you feel you are coming down with something, but keeping sugar out of your diet for the long haul will do wonders for your health and make your body stronger. Be aware that sugar is present in foods you may not suspect like ketchup and fruit juice.
GET ENOUGH REST:
Just like it becomes harder for you to get your daily tasks done if you’re tired, if your body is overly
fatigued it will be harder for it to fight off disease. Regular rest will keep you strong and ensure that
your body has the strength to fight off any potential invaders.
EAT GARLIC REGULARLY:
Garlic is a triple-whammy: it’s antibacterial, antiviral and anti-fungal. Garlic is one food that you should be eating every day. It is important to note that the garlic must be fresh to give you optimal health benefits. The active ingredient is destroyed within one hour of smashing the garlic, so garlic pills are virtually worthless and should not be used. When you use the garlic, compress it with a spoon prior to swallowing it, or put it through your juicer to add to your vegetable juice. If you swallow the clove intact you will not convert the active ingredient, Allicin, to its active form.
DON’T LET STRESS BECOME OVERWHELMING:
We all face some stress everyday, but if stress becomes overwhelming then your body will be less able to adapt and fight off illnesses. It has been estimated that up to 90 percent of illness and disease is stress-related. If you feel that stress is taking a toll on your health, allow Network Spinal
Analysis to be the gold standard for your best health and wellness lifestyle. NSA is remarkably effective in relieving stress associated with all kinds of life events, from work to family to trauma.
PROBIOTICS:
30-40% of your immune system is in your gastro-intestinal system. Daily probiotics will restore the natural state of health that a diet of excess sugar, meat, processed foods and prescription drugs have destroyed.
ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE:
Chronic negativity with thoughts, words, actions and feelings can and will affect the immune response.
When the mind perceives a threat the body will go into a panacea of events that will comprise the
integrity of the nervous system, endocrine system, cardio system and of course the immune system.
Gratitude for what is working in one's life sets us free from the constant struggle with its debilitating
effects.
